This gathering was a love letter to the creative community of Austin. We brought people together to celebrate what we value most: accessibility, authenticity, healing, community, and art for art’s sake.
We invited you to our home—both literally and figuratively—to connect through art, music, movement, and expression. As artists we are always finding unique and profound ways to harness life’s joy, pain, love, and energy around us and turn it into something shared and sacred.
Art is a portal—a way to slip past the veil and separateness of everyday life into a space of community and pure creation. Interacting with art is to interact with the collective consciousnesses. That’s what this was all about.
The dream behind this event was community, art, and connection.
And it could not have been more fully realized.
I am absolutely blown away by the vibrant energy and abounding generosity of the art community here. This gathering was meant to create a space for human connection through art. Which was only made possible through the right conditions: kind souls, openness to life, desire for connection, authenticity, and vulnerability.
So many small miracles and serendipitous moments unfolded- many of which I didn’t even see.
People shared their art for the first time.
Songs were sung that had never been heard before.
Friendships emerged.
Art was made.
A community canvas appeared seemingly out of thin air.
There was dancing, hugging, hula hooping, flowing, loving, sharing, and simply being.
Thank you to everyone who came to Our Place- whether you shared your work, came to support your friends and community, laughed, danced, or just opened your heart.
You made it OUR place.
